About this opportunity
Our client is looking for an Accountant to join their Bermuda based team. Reporting to the Group CFO, the Accountant will assist and support with a range of accounting and other business responsibilities for the group entities. This is a role for a self-motivated and proactive accountant able to be flexible working with small multi-jurisdictional team
Key Accountabilities:
Reporting and supporting on accounting, administration, banking, business set-up and payments and KYC for the Group
Posting cash book, journals, and general ledger reconciliations
Monthly accounting preparation in Xero, producing draft management accounts
Posting and analysing investment reports for interest and gains/losses
Assisting with board pack preparation
Preparation of annual budgets and relevant reporting with Group CFO
Assisting with due diligence on any new acquisitions, financial and costing information for stakeholders
Supporting with annual audit preparation and provision of all audit requested documents
Prepare the US GAAP accounts for Consolidated Bermuda Group
Assisting with the preparation of US condensed accounts and statutory accounts for licensed entity in Bermuda
Updating policies and regulatory reports (FCR and CISSA)
Assisting M&A team with business analysis and pricing
What you’ll need
Qualified accountant with 2 or more years PQE either within audit or financial services, preference will be given to those with insurance industry experience
Experience with Xero or other online accounting packages
Experience with group accounting and consolidations
Preference will be given to candidates who have knowledge of Solvency II, BSCR regulations
Willing to travel, up to a couple of times per year
Able and willing to work in a small team, and able to work alone as necessary
Developed Excel worksheet skills
Advance word skills
PowerPoint presentation skills
